About Natasha

I’m a writer from Stoke-on-Trent, now based in Brighton, with over a decade of experience of writing words to earn my keep. I’ve worked in writers’ rooms for Rough Cut, A24, HBO, and BBC, collaborating on character development, concept creation, storyboarding, and most importantly, jokes, with the likes of Joel Golby, Jamie Carragher, Jess Bray, Jack Rooke, Steve Stamp, Asim Chaudry and Oobah Butler.

Alongside this, I’m currently developing two very exciting audio projects of my own: a series with the exceptional Granny Eats Wolf, inspired by my experience growing up as a lower working-class woman surrounded by burly, emotionally stunted men (plus a generous dose of murder and naked women to get it greenlit), and an adaptation in development with Audible Studios—this one, mercifully, sans naked women. Or not ones you can see, anyway. My BBC audio credits include writing Music Uncovered, a Coldplay documentary for BBC Radio One hosted by Greg James.

My first scriptwriting & comedy experience was on Fleabag and Killing Eve—and although my work didn’t make it to the credits (it involved far too much tea-making and biscuit-fetching), it provided an invaluable insight into how shows come together.

I then spent a year working on Beeb, the BBC’s voice chat tool. The experience of working with talents like Sandi Toksvig, Dane Baptiste, Babatunde Aléshé and Jo Wiggins was transformative for me. I learned to balance comedy with tone, riff on current affairs, and collaborate effectively with a production team to make every word count (and ended up being the only writer asked to complete the whole run which really pleased the teacher’s pet in me).

One of my proudest projects is the Football Book Club podcast, which I co-host with James Bugg, Jack Bernhardt, and James Boughen. Despite the chaos of wrangling three male comedy writers, the podcast was celebrated by Esquire as ‘the funniest podcast around’ and named a top podcast by Amazon in 2023. We’ve worked with brilliant guests including Ivo Graham, Maisie Adam, Rhys James and Steve Bugeja, and I am the reigning world champion at naming footballer’s favourite motorway service stations.

I’ve also tried my hand at stand-up, successfully holding my own for 15 whole minutes at Komedia. To pay the bills, I’ve written for brands like Expedia, Soho House, Nike, Armani Beauty, Adidas, Gucci, Burberry and Glossier. And, most importantly to my family, I am currently the face of Port Vale for Sky Sports’ 2024/2025 campaign. I am doing all of this to meet Jennifer Saunders.

Testimonials

Simply the most talented writer I have worked with.
— Nathan Freeman, Granny Eats Wolf
Working with Tash is fun, funny, daft... and yet somehow I am always smarter at the end of it. Her emotional intelligence is such that she manages to make what feels like the funniest conversation I have had all week simultaneously feel like therapy.
— Joanna Wiggins, BBC
Brings joy and levity to every subject, without being scared to bare her soul. She’s the voice you need in your room.
— Joe Lyons, Abso Lutely
Natasha’s dedication to her projects, and to getting the truth across in a way that the audience will gobble up regardless of how bleak the subject matter, is unrivalled.
